Background Check/GPA

Start date for SA program at BB is imminent. Third party service for background check JUST sent me an email today specifically asking for my GPA.

I transferred schools after freshman year (from respectable non-target to target school). I listed the first year of college at previous school on the formal application to the bank but not on my resume. The previous school and my transfer did come up in conversation a few times during the recruiting process, but this is probably irrelevant.

I used to list both schools on my resume, with the GPA for each and an "overall GPA" with the weighted average. When I removed the first school from my resume (career advisor said this was ok) in order to make room for a different entry, I wanted to retain the info about my grades at the state school since I had good grades and barely had any classes at the new school. I thought listing 2 different school GPAs under the section for the same college would look stupid/confusing, so my quick fix at the time was to delete both GPA entries and leave the "overall GPA" entry.

I made this change several weeks before IB/S&T recruiting started in earnest and never gave it a second thought. I am now worried because the background check service is asking me specifically for my GPA at my current school (with no mention of the previous school??). The difference between the GPA on my resume (the weighted average of both schools) and my current target school GPA is .18.

I realize now that this could be problematic- to the background check people it will look like I'm either hiding the first school or flagrantly inflating my GPA. I never had the intention to deceive, but having submitted a weighted average GPA now looks pretty retarded after reading other WSO threads on this subject.

Do I contact HR? Submit the transcript anyway? Submit both transcripts? Explain myself to the background check service?

Give them both school GPAs and let them figure it out or just give them what you had listed on the app and your resume. Whatever you feel more comfortable with.
