Background checking
How strict do they check your background after you get an offer?
It is obvious that they contact your previous employers to see if you actually worked there or not.
Do they also check to see if individual bullet point on your resume is true? I mean, are they gonna contact your previous bosses and ask them if you actually performed this DCF or LBO analysis?
I don't understand these posts and they come up so often. It reminds me of that scene in liar liar when he gets the call for advice from the guy who got caught robbing someone at an ATM, again (yes I'm old):
"stop breaking the law a**hole"
Be truthful in your resume. Highlight the important pieces, the parts you think are relevant and make sure they are strong bullets, but don't make stuff up.
I am not breaking the law lol. I am not lying at all. I just want to revise my resume in such a way that fits better for specific job positions.
I am not saying you are breaking the law, I was quoting a movie. The point of my post was that many people continue to basically ask "can I lie on my resume?" and I have a very simple answer of "don't".
You can revise your resume in any way you want to fit a specific job position, but you should not lie. And that is not what you asked about, you are not asking "hey should I revise my resume for the role I'm applying so that the information I present is the most relevant?". The clear answer to that is, yes of course you can and you should. You asked about lying on your resume (or at least hinted at that by asking whether people will find out if you really did X), you should not do that.
yea that's what I meant. sorry for the confusion. Appreciate your advice
