Recruiting for BDCs

Does anyone know what recruitment looks like for Business Development Companies (BDCs) in terms of time lines and target candidates? I am a college student searching for entry level roles in finance, and am wondering if this may be a good position for me. Moreover, what are the exit opportunities after working with a BDC. Is it realistic that someone could transition into other buy side roles like PE or even to sell side roles such as investment banking?

I only recently heard about this business and want to get a sense what to expect. Thank you!
