Best path into sports, media, and entertainment?

Background: Incoming A1 at a T2/boutique CDD shop in NYC office, mainly focused on industrials. T20 US undergrad, target UK masters. Goal is to end up in the sports, media, and entertainment industries, either in M&A advisory (Raine, Moelis, etc.), PE (RedBird, Shamrock Capital, Arctos, Silver Lake), or a corporate strategy role (NBA, Disney, Netflix). Would love some input into how realistic this is, and what is the best path to take to achieve this. Here is what I'm thinking are the most viable options:

  1. Lateral to MBB/TMT-focused boutiques within next 12-18 months, get to consultant/manager level -> M7 MBA -> IB/strategy roles
  2. Try and get into IB now - go through 2027 FT process
  3. stay in my current role and network

If anyone has experience with this or is interested in the same industries, would really appreciate your advice.
