Blackrock Summer Analyst AMG Interview

has anyone been through BlackRock's interview for account management group (amg) SA position?

if so, please share your experience. i'm a liberal arts major, and i don't know what will be expected of me...and i'm wondering if the interview will be more geared towards fit/behavioral or technical.

thanks in advance!

I had it this morning. 100% fit. But, you might also be asked informally where the market is at, where you think its going, etc.

thanks a lot for the response! hope your interview went well.

i'm probably jumping the gun here, but do you know how the second round would be? would the technical questions come then? ...wait, is it only two rounds?

and how much would an AMG SA get paid?

thanks.

Yeah, I'm just in th same boat as you, going through the interview process. I was told that th second round would be a typical superday structure, 10 half-hour interviews in one day.

Don't know what th pay is like, but there are definitely some really sharp people working there so I imagine its roughly at Street level (at least the base, no idea about bonus). A lot of people actually used to be Merrill, and got grandfathered in w/ th merger, so I can't imagine their pay got adjusted downward.

Projects I've worked on, teamwork and leadership experience, strengths, future career goals, why investment management/BlackRock/portfolio management Group. Also the run down on my resume in general. Bear in mind, I'm not a finance major. Because of my background, something I got asked in each interview was how I got into finance from my current major (meteorology) and how I relate the two.

I did hear from others that they got asked a slew of finance related technical questions. I would say it really depends on your background and the interviewer.

Hi,

Thanks very much for this comment. It help me to think about my ideals.

Apart from that, this link below may be useful: Account interview questions

I hope it will useful for you. Tks again and pls keep posting.

I interviewed on the 26th jan and got email next day for superday on on friday 30th. Just came back finishing it and will hear back offers next week :0

If it's Account Management, know everything about the investment process, i.e. clients submitting requests for proposals, and those proposals being passed on to product groups etc. Know what the job of the Account Manager is; set goals for the fund, create market updates, client presentations and interact with the PM. Also, you need to show them you have great communication skills so try and come off as someone who enjoys interacting with people but at the same time enjoys following the markets. It might get a little technical, i.e. market news and all. When did you have your first round interview btw and how long did they take to get back to you?

I interviewed last Thursday on campus and haven't heard back yet. They said it would take around a week so don't panic yet.
