Bowdoin College to Banking
How is Bowdoin viewed on the street, most notably in IB? If anyone could share insight on getting from Bowdoin to banking as well as how prevalent their employees are at top firms I would greatly appreciate it.
A lot of the placement is through sports teams and well connected private hs kids. With that said, this means there is an active alumni base on the street to connect with. Semi target below Williams Amherst Middlebury.
Bowdoin is most definitely not below Middlebury...
In IB placement yes it is on a volume basis objectively. Search through LinkedIn keep unofficial tally for yourself.
Its common knowledge that Bowdoin is a very good lib arts school...just not the same representation on wall street as places like MIT, and the Ivy schools.
Bowdoin would be a better choice for law school than wall street.

Seen a bunch of Bowdoin alums on the street, they seem to place fairly well - similar to a lot of the top LACs.
FWIW our CFO went to Bowdoin and had a GS/MS associate stint post-Top tier MBA. So it worked out for him as one more data point.

Definitely possible. Their alum base on the street is almost cultish. Class of 2021 placed into GS TMT, MS, JPM, Jefferies, and Tier I Asset Management firms like BlackRock, Fidelity, and PIMCO. With proper networking, I'd argue that top LACs actually have an edge over traditional large universities.
