Breaking Back into Finance from FinTech

Hi All,

After graduation (2017) I accepted a FT offer at a BB Bank in their Investment Banking Credit group. This focused primarily on Underwriting large cap revolvers, and I was there for a year. However, at the end of my first year I was offered a good position at a small FinTech on their Partnerships and Business Development team. Long story short, I have been in the FinTech world for over 4 years now, however I am looking to break back into Finance, particularly Banking, Credit, or Corporate Banking. FinTech is starting to crack and I do not feel that the career trajectory is what it used to be.

I have a good solid base skillset in finance, including modeling and financial statement analysis. However, I feel that do not have the years of experience to directly lateral over to more technical banking positions (Associate at an M&A shop for example).

Has anyone ever lateraled back into Finance after a few years at Startups / FinTechs? Or know anyone that has?
