Breaking In

Hello, Iv been a lurker for a while but Iv come to the point where I want to try and do something with my life. I’m currently a sophomore at a non- target with a computer science background with a 3.9 GPA. Here’s the problem, Iv spent the last four years working to pay off my debt as I go so now I’m a late to graduating, and have no internships. I only have 4 years of management experience as a operations management on my resume. When I asked an alumni for advice they basically told me I had no chance now at even getting a decent job 💀. I’m willing to do anything, work what ever season and lick anyone’s ass. I want to go for fintech/ IB to maximize my options. I’m in the New York area and I’m thinking about transferring to NYU or Columbia to help my chances. I just don’t know where to start, should I aim for finance based internships or fintech? Does my age matter (21 about to turn 22) should I mix my internships with finance and tech?
