Breaking into IB from a tech school
How would recruiters view an applicant from a school like Caltech (as in will it be a detriment/will I get consideration or just passed over if no connection to push resume)? In terms of recruiting, BAML came once, and GS comes to our school often but I think mostly for quants. I looked through the alumni network and LinkedIn and only found two alumni currently in IB, so would it be a good idea to just start cold emailing bankers I find on LinkedIn? Any tips in general would also be welcomed. Thanks!
