Breaking into IB from low socio-economic background

Will be starting my SA stint next year and wanted some advice from those who successfully navigated their way whilst coming from a disadvantaged background.

I attended some networking sessions and personally felt out of place when the subject of hobbies came up and what you do in your spare time, where others mentioned their expensive scuba diving lessons and holiday destinations.

As well as this I also feel like I am not well-spoken enough, if that makes sense ahah. Was looking for advice on how to polish yourself for an environment like this in terms of the way you speak etc. Do not want to be some sort of social outcast when it comes to next summer lol.
