BS BB Commercial Banking career

About to join a commercial banking group at a BB Balance sheet bank (think JPM/BofA/Citi/WF) in a Tier 2 city (CHI/ATL/CLT). Great role with good WLB.

What are possible career paths/exits other than direct promotion to RM or lateral?

From what I’ve read from exhausting commercial banking threads on this site, buyside options are mostly private credit shops, with only CRE lending groups potentially placing well to REPE otherwise, it’s typically Corp Banking or IB in LevFin.

Would appreciate any sort of advice or insight on this.
