Canadian Sophomore Hoping to Break into NY Scene - Chances?

Hi everyone, feeling a bit demoralized and was wondering if anyone could shed some insights/practical advice.

Currently a sophomore at a Canadian semi-target for the US (Ivey/Queens) but didn’t make the relevant investment clubs that have pipelines to the states (Evercore/GS/HL/CS/MS/Moelis).

I worked a term at a small search fund based in Toronto but didn’t get much live deal experience (beyond reviewing CIMs and NDAs), and another at a LMM PE fund that was newly launched (but worked on operating models and building LBOs as well as managing portco companies).

Given that our school’s main investment banking pipelines are mostly from the investment clubs, how should I position myself/who should I network with to get a referral and land an interview? I’ve been sending personalized emails with rare replies, and have struggled to land diversity hireviews for sophomore programs. Are there any sophomore summer internships I should seek out that would help my chances at 2023 summer recruiting?

Thanks everyone for your advice in advance!
