CAREER HELP - Received an offer from a financial regulatory agency
I ended up receiving an offer from a financial regulatory agency. The work is auditing/compliance type of stuff for futures/options trading. Given my interest in these products/the constant developments in regulation, I feel like I could actually gain a lot of satisfaction from the job.
SIDE NOTE: I want to eventually go for a CFA® and MBA, and possibly transition to more FO roles within finance (related to alternative investments, Asset Management) or towards a financial consulting role for the capital markets (place like Oliver Wyman. Part of me is even thinking compliance work at a BB if this regulation career works out.
So, anyways, I also have also have an opportunity to do final rounds for an IT consulting corporation (IBM/Accenture type). I honestly have very little interest in this line of work, and I know people have complained about it on WSO...the only plus is the dec pay (65-70K).
Granted, I didn't get an additional offer yet from the IT consultancy, but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about these two opportunities in relation to my long term goals.
