Career switch after over 15 yrs of experience
I’ve been in the industry for over 15 years. I graduated into the GFC. I’ve been at several blue chip firms and an entrepreneurial one. My last firm went through massive layoffs and comp was awful. My current firm started off ok and is now going through layoffs too. Worried what if I’m next. I’ve worked so hard and feel like I don’t have much to show for it.
To be honest, I’d be fine taking less pay if I can land somewhere stable and have decent WLB. Part of me wonders is it too late to switch industries? What could I do? This industry is brutal. I’ve seen too many bright great people screwed over. It seems to reward people with big egos.
helpful to know what you do. Working at a developer vs lender vs LP equity, all different options IMO
