Wanted to gauge the opinions here: Currently a 2nd year analyst at a T2 firm (think OW, Deloitte, Kearney etc.) and have a very solid resume with multiple high-profile internships and with a good GPA (but not from a target school). I've been trying to network into McKinsey for some time now and finally secured a referral; but from an Analyst-level person. The general consensus has always appeared that you need a referral from a high-level employee to make a dent here. Is this doable?
I know the current environment is also not great but I've been told McKinsey is still doing a lot of work and is still hiring.
