Choosing NYC over Boston

I have two FT offers. The Boston AM firm is arguably better for my long-term career, but the NYC role is at a BB in IB so I don't think it'd really be that much worse for my resume. Obviously going straight to the buy-side would be better career-wise, and I would prefer the hours and work of the Boston role.

The hesitancy comes from the fact that all of my friends will be in NYC doing BB IB as well. I'm really conflicted because I'd prefer to be with my friends. Would it be very dumb of me to pick a BB over this solid AM firm just because it's in NYC over Boston?

Having lived in both Boston and NYC, I don't see how NYC >> Boston is a hot take or a difficult decision
