I am pretty discouraged tbh.

The bank where I interned this summer was not doing well and noone got returns. I found out about it during my last couple of weeks at the firm, so I was already late given that I hadn't networked.

I'm also an international student, and this definitely doesn't help.

I’m sorry man. That really sucks. I’m in a similar spot except albeit, I just wasn’t good enough.

Did you graduate this past may?

I am feeling discouraged at times, but it comes in waves. What bank got zero returns? I think the rates at my bank were pretty low too.

No I still have another year but there were limited spots this cycle for 2024, haven’t had a first round or hirevue, and networking has been less than fruitful. I’ve sent hundreds of personalized emails at this point, with minimal ROI— I’m sure every analyst’s email is getting blasted at this point. Just a tough economy

NYC PE internship lost over the summer after reaching verbal offer stage due to visa sponsorship. Worked part time at an OCIO - most boring job in the history of jobs.

Graduated last week. No full time prospects. Canadian uni MFin, international student. It’s crappy crap crap right now. Banks are laying off, even regional boutiques say they have no deal flow.

Interviewed for fall PE and corpdev internships but they needed me to return to school - can’t.

It’s depressing times.
