Coffee Chat Emails

Hey guys, so I've found that my success rate for replies to my emails to bankers for coffee chats are very low.

I am usually targeting juniors (analyst/associate level) and sending custom email to each (bringing up a deal they worked on, alumni, etc.).

I have had a little success but for more of the regional boutiques in london, I have had maybe 2 replies out of 100+ emails sent. I am trying to recruit for one of these offices but finding it impossible to get a reply from anyone. (I have also sent linkein messages to these people as well).

Any advice on getting replies would be appreciated.

How long is your email? Emails longer than 5 sentences will not be read. Do you attach your resume? If you have good content, you should definitely attach it. Do you follow up? Should always follow up at least once for each person. Also, mention anything you have in common (hometown, clubs, organizations...).

Email is about 5 sentences. I don't attach my cv but will start to as of now.

On the topic of follow ups, what should I be adding in the email? (Saying thanks, for another meeting, etc.)

Again thx for the advice.

Following up I meant following up on cold emails that they didn't respond to. Just a couple of sentences asking for their availabilities and stating you can be flexible.

If you are following up after calls just say thanks and only have an ask if the call went well. The ask can be anything that you think could be helpful and should not be too much work for the other person.

Maybe it sounds like you're trying to hard by bringing up a deal they worked on? Analysts are staffed in different verticals so it may be presumptious to talk about a deal that the bank worked on and not the person you're emailing.
