Did anyone try cold-emailing Greenhill? I emailed like 6-7 alumni from my school over the past few months and have not received a single response, even though, their emails are on our school club newsletter.
I usually have a decent response rate on my cold-emails, but not this boutique.
Anyone had the same issue?
I think this is less a Greenhill-specific issue and more an issue that you emailed 7 people at a relatively small shop.
Also, last week was July 4.
I've cold called/emailed Greenhill successfully(not for a job though) and had them get back to me. As mentioned, might want to narrow down your targets and work on your messaging. Try to personalize as much as possible.
Same. I agree that it's probably timing (I think half of the country went on vacation last week) and your message itself.
I don't know anyone personally at Greenhill, so I guess this is a little different from who you're contacting...but yesterday I emailed one of the recruiters who replied in a few hours
I emailed one alumni (experience, not university) and got a response fairly swiftly with a good conversation.
That's only one small datapoint and my connection tends to be a much better "alumni" network than university alumni, but based on that I didn't find Greenhill to be worse to interact with than others.
What did you put as the subject header for your email? Sorry I was just thinking if there is something wrong with my subject header for Greenhill
Dont remember. I think it was a pretty generic "[alum nickname/title] interested in " title.
