Commercial Credit to Sales & Trading?

I just got an offer for a commercial credit training program at a regional bank. Not exactly what I'm looking to do, I've been pursuing sales & trading opportunities. Some banks have told me to keep in touch etc, but no offers as of yet.

With that said, is commercial credit the sort of career you can easily transfer into sales & trading career? What I mean is if I hypothetically had some experience in that field, would it be easier to break into sales & trading or would I be stuck there forever?

Thanks for any input!
