Consulting preparation for Bio Major

Hi all!
I'm a Bio major at a consulting/business non-target T30 U who has wanted to go to medical school for a long time. Currently, I'm in my junior year, and have been rethinking my career goals and evaluating if medical school is worth it due to all the stress, testing, etc. Having taken no business/econ/finance courses whatsoever, I recently joined an on campus consulting group just for the heck of it and although I know the stuff that college consultants do is very basic, I find it extremely interesting and have gradually looking towards consulting as a possible post-graduate career path.

I'm still really conflicted about ditching premed and think I will apply to medical school after my senior year taking a gap year during which I will try to find a consulting job, if possible, and decide if I will want to continue going to medical school or continue down in consulting/business or shoot for a MBA. Still, how hard is it to get a cosulting job out of college with a Bio major and no real consulting experience and as someone who doesn't go to a big name school like HYPSM?

I have talked to recruiters at a recent career fair and some life science consulting recruiters seem to be open to research-oriented natural science majors, but everyone I personally know who have gotten consulting jobs majored in econ/stats/math/poli sci related fields and completed a consulting internship. Right now, I am finishing up my last premed prerequisite and do have a good GPA (3.8+). I also have completed a paid summer research internship at a big name hospital (if that even matters for consulting), but what should I do to prepare if I want to find a consulting job? I think it's too late to find summer internships for next summer as many firms have concluded hiring but is there anyway to strengthen my resume for consulting firms or prepare in general? Like would just continuing down with a bio major and reading books/forums on consulting prep be fine or should I take some econ/entreprenurship classes even though I'm too far away from a econ major now.
