Could I use data science to get into Finance?

I have a bachelor's degree in Economics from a top university in Nigeria (ranked within the top 800 worldwide) with a 3.0/4 GPA. I'm planning to move to the US soon and aiming to break into the finance industry, but it’s proving to be quite challenging.

I have a strong opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in Data Science at a state school in North Carolina. My question is, if I complete this program and pass the CFA Level 1 exam, what are my chances of landing an entry-level job in finance in the US?

For context, I currently work as a Risk Management Officer at a top firm in Nigeria (one of the top 20 in the country), so I do have some finance experience.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.
