CPI went radio silent…
Had a case study and was told I’d get feedback early the following week. CPI asked to speak early in the week for my thoughts on how it went - I played ball and shared how I thought it went. I’ve followed up with the recruiter every day since for an update but they’ve been radio silent. That’s really weird for the recruiter to be ghosting me right? They had other candidates they were interviewing but even still I expected some level of communication. Anyone else go through a similar situation? How do I get a response without coming off like a dick?
I’m considering emailing the interviewers if there’s nothing communicated soon. This wouldn’t be the first time their recruiters have dropped the ball (one forgot to tell me I got a superday and completely messed my timeline up…).
You didn't move on in the process. These PE headhunters regularly ghost canidates when out the process and are super nice whilst still in the process. They are just trying to get paid; none of them care about you. The reason they do the whole how was the process thing is just to better prepare future canidates so they end up looking good to their client when they send a bunch of canidates that do well in their interviews.
I familiar with them ghosting once eliminated but given the stage of the process, them asking for feedback from me and the interviewer saying “well definitely be following up with feedback” I feel like some level of communication is to be expected. Especially if I’m emailing a couple times for an update - if nothing else saying “they’re still discussing” at least let’s me know my emails aren’t getting lost.
My take here is you were on the cusp of next round / dinged and the firm / HH is not communicating to you in order to preserve optionality if they don’t like the candidates they moved forward / are moving forward through process up to your stage. Rarely does this indicate a positive outcome so at this point would just keep head down and pursue other processes. I’ve never not had a HH follow up with me if I got dinged (especially if it was after a few stages) I but I have waited a week or so before they let me know they were going with another candidate.
At this point would just write it off and forget about it as there is nothing to do now on your side.
