CS IB SA no return to UBS

Few posted to flex their return; I'm posting just to vent. Apparently spots are filled and I didn't even get a superday. I got top reviews (from FTs and the summer staffer) during my CS internship but guess that didn't matter.

IB FT recruiting is bleak af as well. Did a superday but haven't heard back since. Most groups I asked are not hiring anyway. I'm also international, which means I can't just go to whichever small shop on the street as they won't even take my resume.

In contrast, a friend that didn't even pass SA recruiting ended up at a small PE shop and is doing great.

Guess that sometimes life is just unfortunate.

Definitely an unfortunate situation and not much you can do - but don’t give up hope just yet…the US has like 50 reasonably reputed investment banks operating. Look for ones that are growing particularly quick off the headlines - Deutsche even Santander are recruiting quite actively. You not only have a top summer under your belt but also unlike most non conversions, a CS non conversion doesn’t really look bad given the situation

For Evercore FT it’s helpful to spam HR’s emails. Not “spam” spam, but just follow up frequently if you know they are interviewing, good luck mate.
