Hello,
I am completely new here. I applied for a fund accounting position at CITCO. But just got offered an interview for the custody associate role. Other than this job description:

I can't seem to find anything else about the role or the potential career paths in it.
It seems to be an back office role. I hope to get my CPA, switch into some sort of financial advisory at a big firm and then later in my career go into some sort of FO role in (asset, wealth management or private equity) and/or CFO role (far into the future since I just finished school). I realize I might have to get an MBA somewhere in between and I am willing to do that.
My question is:
- Does anyone know any custody associates? Or someone who was one?
- How does the future look like for this role and will it push me closer or further away from my future career aspirations?
It would be great to hear everyone's perspectives as I am new to the whole finance and accounting field. As a reference, I am about half way through all the courses I need to start the CPA, the hiring manager for the role told me that I should be able to get my CPA hours through the role as well.
