CVP MBA Recruiting?
Does anyone have info on CVP associate recruiting out of b-school? Only saw one on LinkedIn when I last took a look. Surely spots are limited given the high conversion of A2A but curious if anyone has insights into this process? Surely only M7s will get looks, but then does it become more like HSW? Feel free to link to any old threads - saw a brief one from 2020 but don't know if recruiting dynamics shifted at all.
Bump
No but seen a handful of M7 --> BB end up at CVP at the end of their associate years or early VP years (Barclays, CS come to mind).
From what I heard in OCR, their MBA recruiting pipeline is a new thing. I believe they took one last year (across all schools), and this year I know that one single person went from my non HSW M7. In their OCR event they said that they are starting to recruit from MBAs which is why they were talking to us.
Quick LinkedIn search indicates there 5 summer associates across the whole firm. All were from M7.
Interesting, anything about their profiles jump out? Pre-MBA experience? I'm just wondering if CVP is highly targeted in the applicants they are looking for from b-school.
They figured they can’t really train MBA hires so either does A2A or poach from BB after they had couple of years under their belt. Most boutiques dont do a good job of training mba hires (more focused on deal execution from day 1, less pitch / easy deal reps like capital markets). Centerview took it to the extreme vs others
They started MBA recruiting last year (2020 Summer Associates) and had two from Wharton and CBS. Expanded the class this year to 5. Target schools are HBS, Wharton, CBS and Stern
