Deciding between 2 Offers as 1st year Analyst - Neither BB or EB
One of the offers is for a bank in specialty finance/alternative lending, high deal flow, looking like 4-5 deals a month at least in the 40-100mm range with a small team. Normal long hours, comp is likely close to street level, growing field and the firm's deal flow and deal size has been generally increasing. Not much formalized training, mostly on the job.
The other offer is for a bank doing restructuring in the Middle Market (Miller, TRS, Gordian, GLC). I think Rx is pretty interesting, hours here tend be a little lower, closer to 60-70 a week. All in comp is likely a bit lower, not 100% sure on exits etc.
Honestly don't know if I'm 100% going the PE route but want good overall exit opps if possible, also just want whichever will be better. I feel like option 1 I'd probably learn more but option 2 I'd enjoy more. Not 100% sure what to do in terms of now and for the future. Would love any advice that ya'll can give me.
