Hi All,
was just wondering if a derivatives support analyst is the same as a sales analyst with the career progression of eventually being given a book of clients after a certain period of time, or if it was an actual career.

No, usually not. Middle Office type role where you support the sales team. A Derivatives Sales Analyst is the junior sales role where they are track to handle a book of clients
