Discussion with HR

Hello Guys. I cold emailed an MD at a BB (GS, MS, JP) about two weeks ago. He said he wasn't sure about opportunities but would ask around. Waiting about 10 days. heard nothing and finally called him to check up. He said he was busy on a call but would follow up.

Today I got an email from Graduate recruitment saying my details had been passed to them by him..They asked for my CV and a convenient time to speak with about upcoming "graduate options" with them. What does this mean? How should I approach this conversation?

Any help or prior experience appreciated.

Thanks

If the HR recruiter is reaching out to you, which I am assuming is a direct result of you contacting the MD, it is a great thing.

Same thing happened to me when I was going through the recruiting cycle for SA positions. I contacted a Director via email, never got a response but a month later an HR recruiter emailed me saying my information had been forwarded to them internally. Make sure you follow up with the recruiter promptly and be very nice and professional with them as they are the frontline in terms of getting your foot in the door.

Good Luck!!!

They asked for my expected graduation date, gpa, and an updated resume. You'll want to make sure your resume is ready and free or any errors. Typically the next step should be either a phone screen or an invite to Super Day.

I've only done one phone screen, I just made an effort to turn it into a conversation about myself as well as my knowledge and opinion of the market.

Super Day will be a different beast, one you'll need to actually set aside time to prepare for.
