Diversifying Internship Applications
I have a general order of areas I want to work in. With some banks, they only offer internships for certain areas (e.g. M&A), making it easy to apply. However, for the banks that offer multiple division internships, is it smart or stupid to diversify applications?
For example, maybe I prefer JPM FICC over GS FICC, but prefer GS AM to JPM AM. To maximise my chances of success, should I apply to both for FICC or is it okay 'diversifying' my applications (e.g. apply to JPM FICC, GS AM)?
Assuming I have the knowledge and background to get into both of course.
