I was just wondering if people of Indian origin count as diversity hires? And what really is stopping someone to say they are Hispanic if they are ethnic? Do banks make you prove that there is some lineage? Do people at the banks also know if you are "gay", or "lesbian" if you are successfully hired into the firm, or is that undisclosed information.

If by Indian, you mean people Native Americans, then yes.
But if you meant actual Indians, as in people ethnically from India, then no that is basically as anti-diverse as it gets.
