Do I take the T2 Consulting Back-Up or Boutique IB offer? Advice/Opinions would be greatly appreciated. -> Junior Non-Target
Essentially title, honestly I high key nepod my way into a T2 strategy consulting internship (110k annualized) via a family friend that is an active partner who advocated for me. Grateful for the opportunity and I did perform solidly in the interviews (the real ones, not mickey mouse ass technicals/cases), but I have spent the last year of my life aiming for IB. Locked up several boutique offers now (90-100k annualized) but missed the boat on BB or large MM. Frankly I prefer the banking work to consulting by a mile, but the big name brand/prestige could be a valuable add long term. Debating trying for the Consulting -> MBA -> IB pipeline later on, but I don't know if that would be a harder entry than taking the boutique offers I have now. Who knows, maybe ill take the consulting pill and stay here forever idk. Just dont want to be poor cant lie.
If anyone has advice from working in either field please share, would love perspective on industries or what you would do in my shoes.
