does sophomore internship matter after you received your junior offer?

having talked to a few analysts from different firms who have advised me to relax and enjoy my sophomore summer after having received my junior offer, i am thinking of not pursuing finance opportunities this summer — instead, i am thinking of pursuing my other interests, such as interning at an art museum/charity organization

is this frown upon? should i continue to build out my financial skillset? i have a generalist offer at a bb, so would doing something outside finance sophomore year negatively impact my chance during placement process? is resume considered in such process?

also, am considering not working and just travel and read books — would this be a red flag in my resume, a concerning gap?

thank you for everyone’s insights!

I don't think it matters at all but I'm just doing one to stay productive over the summer. If you already have plans that you think will keep you busy throughout the summer then don't do one though.

I think that travelling and reading books is an excellent idea. You should convert to Islam and spend your time reading the Quran and praying to Allah.
