Does the type of referral matter?
Hi guys,
Does the referral itself hold any type of weight in interviews, or do the bankers not know who referred you/only know you got an interview and that’s it. Wondering if an MD/VP referral holds more weight and therefore bankers are more lenient for pushing you to the next round vs. getting an interview with no referral or from an analyst. Or is everyone on the same playing field in the interviews?
Going to go out on a limb and say yes
So if a candidate makes a mistake here and there, but got an MD referral, you think they are more lenient? Compared to a kid that makes the same mistake but had no referral/ it was an analyst referral?
I don’t go to IU for background, but recently had good connections at a bank and my referral got trumped by an MD referral, NYC for reference
