Entry level role with no experience to break into private equity or IB or Corp Dev

Hello fellow monkeys !

I am 27 yo, French and got a Master Audit/Finance from non-target school.

My experience:

  • 6 months at PwC as a back office auditor
  • 1+ Year as a co-founder and kind of the "CFO" of my own company. (Doing accounting, financial analysis, legal, product management, supplier management, etc..)

Following a decision I'll quit the company for the end of year 31/12/2021. So I'm looking to break into financial services industry.

Private Equity, IB and Corp Dev Analyst/Associate roles are what I'm aiming for. As an unexperienced chimp I'll have to find alternative path to get into these roles. And that is the problem.

I don't know which positions with the right exit opps I should apply to.

Credit Analyst ? Treasury Analyst ? Financial Analyst ? Investment funds controller analyst ? Audit ? Research analyst ? IBMO analyst ? And there is so much more.. !

It seems I am lost, I don't want to make the wrong decision. And I probably have near 0 chance to get into positions I just quoted.

Are there ancient wise gorilla here that could give me insight and advices about what would be the most efficient/logical path to follow ? Besides working at Mcdonald.

Thank you in advance ! Really appreciate the forum's content.
