Evaluation of Candidacy

Hey guys I've been reading wso for a long time but this is my first post. I'm a sophomore at a semi-target and I'll be applying to a BB ibd freshmen and sophomore SA program. Through I pretty substantial connection at a BB I was put into contact with and my resume was given to HR. I've talked at length with HR and they put me into contact with members of specific groups I'm interested in.

Recently, one of these members contacted me for a phone call because HR wants an "evaluation of my candidacy" for the program. Does anyone have any idea what this means? Should I treat it as a sort of interview and expect technical questions? Bear in mind that I haven't officially applied to the program yet.

Thanks in advance. I really have no idea what to expect so any insight is great...

Is the call with HR or with the group? If you are talking with actual bankers you should be prepared for technicals. This sounds like a standard phone interview to me.
