Feeling Hopeless and I dont know what to do

Secured an SA 2025 Offer at a BB for Public Finance Investment Banking and at a Target (Georgetown). Should I extend my graduation date to re recruit or try to get return offer next summer and lateral within the firm. Need some Advice pls. I feel very down after seeing some of my peers kill it this recruting cycle, and I am really ashmed to tell people I'm in the pubfin group.

First bro, pub fin is not that bad. You’re in IB, getting reps, and seeing probably the best WLB of banking.

If you really want to - yes, you can delay by a year by picking up another major. But I wouldn’t recommend it. I would instead suggest you just FT recruit and land in a coverage/FIG group

FT recruiting with an IB offer is not that bad. You can do it.

Bruh, way to be entitled (that you deserve XYZ) and way to be ungrateful for the role wo even working a day. It’s like you’ve made up your mind that it isn’t worth it.

Either ways, Georgetown has a great MSF. 99% chance that you get in, and then you can recruit for SA 2026 and join FT 2027. Being in person at the BB and networking with your desired group can go a long way I guess.

When did I say I deserve it? I am just not happy with where I am. I don’t think that’s me saying I am entitled to anything.

+1 gotta grow up bro. This is part of the real world. Be grateful for a great role and at a great firm. If it makes you feel better, everybody has a moment where they realize they’re not the best and they won’t always get the best school, best job, best company, best project etc. Although painful in the moment, this will teach you humility and patience.

Is this a troll post? You have an internship guaranteed for 2025 and at a good place. You should be happy with recruiting not ashamed. Enjoy your junior year of college and you can always move to a different team once you start FT
