FML - Ultimately pursuing a career in trading

hey guys,

I have goals of ultimately pursuing a career in trading/AM, but as a junior had no relevant exp, and I attend a non target, so I didn't receive any solid offers. I am planning on attending a MFin, and was planning on doing a small internship with a local AM firm, which I thought would be a good first step for me. This morning, however, days before I was going to begin the fuckhead let me know he's not going to be able to have me anymore this summer.

WTF. nothing like waiting until mid May to fuck me over. I am pretty much at a loss for words and ideas now. Please help me try to fix this as best as possible, my biggest fear is that I will be unemployable even if I do get into a good Mfin, because I have no exp.

I sympathize. Same thing happened to me today, only I had arranged international flights and leased an apartment for 10 weeks to do the internship. Just reach out to any contacts you might have, explain the situation and see if there are any positions available within their companies.

Sucks dude. Did you cuss him out? First ask the guy who screwed you so unprofessionally to refer you to someone else in the area. If not use your network to find something else. Is the MFIN a 1yr degree? If you strike out to rectify and even if you are not active this summer, is there an opportunity to do internships during the year (with other shops in the area)? If it is a 2yr degree, intern during the year and during the summer. Either way you still have time.
