Forgot to thank Contact

Did a sophomore SA stint, and got a return offer for my junior year. The return offer is group agnostic, and basically the bank (a BB) is going to have us network with the different groups over the next couple months, starting in a couple weeks.

I was planning on hitting up my contacts early, but I realized I forgot to email my best contact, an MD in a popular product group (M&A) I was super interested in. He's not alumni, but I networked and connected with him over the summer, and we had a great chat. At the time he even took me around his group's floor, and set up coffee chats with a couple of his Analysts for me.  He told me when I got the return offer to contact him again.

Problem is  I was going through my sent mail and realized I forgot to email him after the internship ended. I found the thank you email in my drafts. My concern is If I email him now asking for help with the networking sessions, It may come off as utilitarian/greedy, considering I essentially didn't contract him at all since the internship ended.
