Found out about finance too late. All hope seems lost.
recent undergrad(this month) from a local university in Pakistan (CGPA 2.8). BS (accounting & finance). I planned to go into accounting for the safety of the profession. Have cleared 9/14 papers for the ACCA. I knew very little about finance and CFA. High schools don't have consular or guidance officers. University didn't encourage it as well (because very limited local market). Still my fault for not exploring other career options. My finance courses started in 2019 and the salary difference is fucking huge!!! I did an internship with Deloitte and the workload had similar hours (avg. 9/day). I I wanna switch my career path now but I have been told that very few make it out of the local markets. So if i really wanted to break in the international market graduate programs were my best shot. Giving CFA is gonna be a long shot because the fee translated into local currency is really high. Saw the tier list for banks and looks like GPA is the major thing they are looking at (along with my nationality lol). Do you think I still have a chance in this industry? Fuckin hate accounting and audit now
Bump
You can always get an MBA and become an IB associate. BIG 4 -> top 15 MBA -> IB is a feasible path.
