Freshman at non-target looking for advice on upcoming summer

Im currently a freshman at a non target and I want to know how I can maximize my chances of getting into IB?

I joined 4 groups, including my schools Finance Group and gained some experience to put on my resume in there. I plan doing a few more things before my first semester ends to put on my resume and show interest to the field.

How should I go about my upcoming summer? I know IB internships really only look at sophomores, but how should I gain work experience to set me up for sophomore year?

Is there any program for freshman? Maybe I can take Courses or gain Certifications? Accounting internships? Please help!
