Freshman Internship

Currently a student at Fordham Gabelli School Of Business and a Freshman, getting rejected from internships and feel stuck. Should I keep trying? Im stuck between IB and Real Estate and don’t know where to go. Im trying to network more in the city. Don’t want to waste summer partying etc.

Definitely keep trying. I know it's very difficult to get a freshman internship because you most likely don't have any office experience on your resume, but it makes getting the next internship easier and easier. I didn't get my internship until March, so there's still time for you. I did my freshman internship at a wealth management office, and they always need help, so I'd start there. I also did a few temp jobs in the winter inputting in some marketing data to show that I did have office experience.

I didn’t get an internship until May my freshman year. Definitely caught a stroke of luck. But keep at it you’ll find something soon. Don’t limit your options either because the doors open for you as a freshman will always be small.

Worst case you don’t get anything and you just focus on building skills instead. It’s not the end of the world.
