FT 2022
Anyone know if FT is starting to open up yet or if there's still time? I believe FT usually opens end of August but wanted to confirm, thanks.

How many banks actually post official full time position applications online? I was under the impression that most full time recruiting happens in the middle/end of summer after banks gave out returns to their SAs, know how many accepted, and how many vacancies there are. Then they just directly reach out to last years Super Day candidates or people that networked well with their bankers to run the recruitment process? The whole process seems like a blackbox that happens very quickly and under the radar.
I didn't know that was how it worked - I remember seeing entry level analyst postings when I was recruiting for SA positions though?
Right, I'm sure there are those postings but I'm not exactly sure how effective just applying through those are. Similar to SA recruiting, you need to have someone internally pushing your resume to get that first round interview. People I know that were successful at FT recruiting and making that transition from MM to BB/EB seemed to be people who were contacted directly from recruiting teams in the middle of the junior internship and didn't even formally apply. I think to be really successful you need to be "in the loop" with bankers at the banks you want to target. Make sure you're on their radar, because some of the banks, especially EBs move really fast for FT recruiting.
That's really helpful, thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately the best I managed to get was TAS but I do have connections from Superdays last year that I've been trying to keep in touch with, although it looks like chances are very slim. Do you have any insight on FT Consulting recruiting?
Glad to hear that was helpful! I don't know much about consulting recruiting so you'll have to have someone in the industry chime in here but I believe that consulting recruiting is more friendlier for FT hires. Contrary to FT banking where you definitely need prior IB experience, consulting is more open to hiring people from different industries for their FT program. I expect the recruiting process to be similar where you should ideally network with people before hand, build those connections, have contacts who can get that first round interview for you and so on. Timeline should be later than banking but not by much. On the contrary, if you want to pursue banking, definitely stay in touch with those Super Day connections and pray that they actively reach out to you first, or you can reach out to them after you get that return offer from your junior internship and say that you're interested in FT recruiting and to let you know if they are looking for candidates to interview.
