FT Recruiting, No IB SA - Am I competitive?

In a Corp Dev role for my summer internship. Thinking about FT recruiting. I have a 3.5 GPA, non-target liberal arts school. We have a couple pipelines and have some level of respect across the street. I am wondering what my chances are like for FT? Thinking I only have a shot at regional boutiques? Do I need to have a high level of technical prowess? Finally, any advice on how to explain why I'm not in IB this summer?

How should I go about this process. I have a lot of SA2020 contacts I've kind of burned by not being thanking for their help last recruiting season, etc. Thoughts?

To be blunt you aren’t competitive at all for the reasons below.

1) low gpa 2) non-target 3) no relevant internship (corp dev is ok) 4) no strong networking

People’s opinion my differ but personally FT recruiting won’t work out for you. If you really want to do IB I’d take a solid FP&A/Corporate job, craft your story, get an MBA from the best school you get into and try for IB then.
