FT Recruiting, No IB SA - Am I competitive?
In a Corp Dev role for my summer internship. Thinking about FT recruiting. I have a IB this summer?
How should I go about this process. I have a lot of SA2020 contacts I've kind of burned by not being thanking for their help last recruiting season, etc. Thoughts?
To be blunt you aren’t competitive at all for the reasons below.
1) low gpa 2) non-target 3) no relevant internship (corp dev is ok) 4) no strong networking
People’s opinion my differ but personally FT recruiting won’t work out for you. If you really want to do IB I’d take a solid FP&A/Corporate job, craft your story, get an MBA from the best school you get into and try for IB then.
I very much appreciate the honesty. I may send out some feelers but seems best to go full steam ahead elsewhere and consider it later on.
