Ghosted by HR?
Hey everyone,
Wanted thoughts on my situation and to see if I’m overreacting prematurely. So I’ve been in the process at a bank to lateral (better coverage group, analyst, and city).
There are a total of 5 rounds of interviews. The first three I passed and the 4th was a case study I submitted a week and a half ago. I followed up with HR a few days back on the status and have been ghosted (thus far). I really though I knocked the case study out of the park and everyone I spoke with seemed to really like me. HR has not gotten back to be a about the status of how my case study went (good/bad/pending).
I have kind of assumed I’ve been dinged, but still have a bit of hope. Is this false hope? Do they typically let candidates know either way (good or bad)? Don’t want to seem desperate and send two emails.

Generally speaking, they wouldn't ignore you if you remained in the running. Particularly HR.
This fact pattern suggests the case study wasn't what they were looking for. Good luck in any case.
Ahhh well understood… I just reached out to the MD I would be working for like an hour ago. No response.
