Goldman Sachs Summer First Round Interview

Hi, I could really use some help with this. I am going to have a first round phone interview for one of the Credit Strategies desks at Goldman. In the job description it says they are looking for a Desk Strategist to join the Strategies team in the Securities Division. I am interviewing with a VP for 45 min... any idea what to expect? Should I expect fit in questions or mostly math / cs? I applied for summer internship. Thanks a lot!

Depends on your background, but off the cuff, I'd expect a lot of fit and, especially since it is a VP, some accounting and technical questions as well.

I submitted my resume at a presentation... I didn't really apply for a particular position but they got back to me with this. I have a strong math background. What falls into accounting questions category? Thanks!

What are the accelerated interviews and how are they different from the others? I am not sure if I'm interviewing for summer analyst. They mentioned desk strategist in the email. What should I expect from the interview? As I said before I just submitted my resume at a presentation, I didn't apply for a particular position.... I'm a sophomore. Thanks and I'm hoping for more advices!

No, as he said it's for an SA position. At all the OCR and presentations at targets/Ivies, they'll often take in-person submissions or direct email submissions without making you go through the online application. And why not, they have a better idea of you as a candidate from face-to-face interaction rather than an online printout.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Hi, I passed the first round and I'm going to a round of on-site interviews. Do you have any idea how many make the cut/ what to expect there? I've never been to an on site interview before. Thanks a lot!
