Good places to network for a sophomore internship

I'm an incoming sophomore at a nontarget and once August starts and the summer intern season is over I'm going to start networking with as many people in as many firms as possible to try and land a sophomore internship. I live in the Southeast and where I'm at there is primarily wealth management firms with very little to no IB presence. I'm looking to try and find something in NYC, but should I be looking at Boston, Chicago, etc? Obviously looking for a sophomore internship and coming from a nontarget I'm looking for boutiques but I'm having trouble finding a list of reputable boutiques. Is there a comprehensive resource that shows a list of reputable boutiques or should I just find as many as possible and search people's opinions and experience on and with them? Also any other advice is appreciated.
