Grad Student At Target

I'm currently a phd student in computer science at a west coast target (stanford), and I'm looking for advice on what to do know to do now with career fairs coming up shortly. I'd like to eventually go into a hedge fund after graduation in a few years and I'd like to know the best route to take, whether to find something in IB or a hedge fund, do an internship at something like google, or work at a startup, etc.

For a little background info, I went to a non-target for my undergrad and the best offers for full time positions were the standard microsoft/yahoo/google and a few coder offers at prop trading firms, no finance offers.

Awwwww! This is so legitimate and honest and adorable. I love it. I especially love the way you called Stanford a west coast target.

It's like you just walked into a room of 300 guys building pua models to analyze how to most effectively roofie Anne Hathaway. And you said, "Hey guys, I want to get with her, so I think I'm just gonna go ask her out, unless you have any better ideas"

They're gonna be all, "No, man, first you gotta diss her, then you gotta neg her, then you move left, and dodge right, put your arm here..."

But fact is, your angle is so unusual and your degree is so legit that you actually stand a chance. So. Best route to hedge funds is hedge funds. Go get her.
