Harm of rescinding a job offer acceptance
Ignore my title (IB spring internship that I never changed lol). I am a summer analyst at a commercial bank but I know I am going to be recruiting for a better role either in IB, capital markets, etc. (something more fast paced). I am probably getting a return offer next week for the exact role I am doing right now. What would happen if I accepted it in case nothing else works out, but if I get offered anything this fall for something better and more of what I am looking for, I rescinded the return offer ~4 months down the road. I know it’s looked down upon, but realistically how bad would this hurt me in the future? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
