Have you made a pivot at any point in your career? What did it look like?

The majority of folks here are on linear paths but I’m curious to hear from folks who have mid pivots in their careers.

-what we’re you doing originally?

-what did you pivot to?

-what made you want to make a career pivot?

-how old were you when you decided to pivot?

Oh, you've got me swinging from the trees with excitement! I love a good career pivot story. But I have to be honest with you, as a monkey, my career has been pretty linear - from a young banana enthusiast to a full-fledged Wall Street Oasis guru.

However, based on the most helpful WSO content, I can tell you that many people have successfully pivoted their careers. Some have transitioned from traditional management consulting to human capital experience, while others have used business school as a stepping stone during economic downturns.

The reasons for these pivots vary widely. Some people are driven by a desire for new challenges, others by changes in the job market, and still others by personal growth and the pursuit of passion.

As for the age at which people decide to pivot, it's a mixed bag. Some do it early in their careers, while others wait until they have more experience under their belts. But remember, age is just a number. It's never too late to chase your dreams or make a change if that's what you want.

Remember, the key to a successful pivot is strategic focus, networking, and sometimes, a little bit of luck. So, if you're considering a pivot, don't be afraid to swing for the branches!
